Information about our processing of your personal data.

2. General Personal Information

  • Registration and Bank Account Number (if you are selling items through Svendborg Auctions).

3. Purpose

We process your information to fulfill the agreement we have made regarding the purchase and/or sale of items at our auctions. To create an account with Svendborg Auctions, you must consent to us entering your data into our system.

We store your information to make the process easier for you, whether as a buyer or seller. We can quickly provide you with a buyer number on the auction day, and we can easily register items you wish to sell. We can always retrieve records of items you have bought or sold and assist you with any inquiries.

If you have consented to receive our newsletter, we will also process your information to send you updates about our business and special offers.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the contact details provided in section 1.

4. Sensitive Personal Information

If you are buying or selling art objects worth DKK 50,000 or more, we also process sensitive personal information, such as customer identification with a photo, CPR number, and address, including a copy of your passport, driver’s license, and/or health insurance card.

Copies of customer identification are stored physically in paper form and kept securely, with access restricted to authorized personnel. If you send your ID information to Svendborg Auctions via email, we will print your email content to store the identification in physical format, after which your email will be permanently deleted.

In the case of appraising and registering probate estates on behalf of law firms, we receive and store the name, address, and CPR number of the deceased person.

5. Purpose

The collection and storage of customer identification are in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

According to the Anti-Money Laundering Act, we are required to keep identification information and store it for at least 5 years after the termination of the customer relationship.

Probate appraisals are carried out for attorneys who send the probate certificate to Svendborg Auctions to enable us to perform this task.

6. Who the Information Is Shared With

We have partners and use service providers, some of whom may be data processors. External providers deliver IT systems and services to organize our work.

  • ASPro auction system runs on a Microsoft Azure cloud-based server environment, hosted by Kortermann-IT. Here, we store information about what you have bought and sold over time, which items you have bid on, and images submitted via our online appraisal form.
  • VISMA e-conomic: Here, we store accounting information about your invoices, settlements, and payments.
  • Quickpay, Nets, MobilePay, and PayPal: Payment method data if you do not pay in cash.
  • Shipmondo, GLS, PostNord, and other carriers: Used for shipping your items.

7. How Long Is the Information Stored?

For an active customer relationship, your data is retained as long as necessary to serve you. However, in compliance with the Accounting Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, we are required to store certain information about your purchases for up to 6 years.

When you unsubscribe from our newsletter, related information will be deleted shortly after your unsubscription.

8. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have several rights regarding our processing of your data:

  • Right to Rectification (correction of your data).
  • Right to Erasure (right to be forgotten).
